Comparing with plate-shaped transmission belts, the touching area is larger. So the friction and transmission ability is enlarged.

Comparing with grouped v-belts, the load is distributed more evenly and the body of the belt is thinner and lighter. So the bending tension and eccentrics is smaller, and it can be used on smaller pulleys.

The speed limit of ribbed belt is about 40 m/s, the max. transmission ratio is 1:37.

Good resistance to fatigue, keep a long life span.
